LUMINESCENCE
Luminescence - giving off light by a chemical or physiological process. The paintings are built up with numerous layers of paint, often with lighter tones applied on top of darker colours; the lighter tones are applied in liquid semi-transparent applications often applied with an airbrush. The resulting effect is that of a backlit illuminated screen, giving the paintings a soft warm glow.
The Paintings are peppered with bold graphic circles like dancing orbs, which may to some extent identify as fireflies - which are a form of luminescence, each coloured circle is positioned or scattered within each of the compositions reinforcing the idea of enchanted Luminescence.
